H

Half Cab               A 180 fakie Ollie, which is also a half a cabalerial.

Half Cab Impossible        A combination of a half cab and a  fakie impossible, often confused with a rolling nosehook impossible.

Hand Casper      A casper with the nose held up by one or both hands in any way at all.

Handplant           Whenever you use your hand to support yourself on something else, then you are doing a handplant.  Usually refers to an invert variation.

Handstand          Just what it says but comes in lots of variations, like flips, shuvits, and fingerflips out.

Handstand Fingerflip   Handstand flips are pulled towards you.  But, handstand fingerflips are flipped the other way so that you have a hand at either end of the board to flip it.

Handstand Flip  Grip the toeside edge of the deck with your hands while in the handstand position, kicking your legs in the air to launch you upwards so you can flip the board under you.  Is this like a monkeyflip?

Handstand Shuvit  Just what it says, doing a shuvit from a handstand position.  Really?

Hang Ten             Skater had both feet facing forward on the nose of the board, just like the surfers do.

Hangtime            This is the time measured after the skater launches from an obstacle and hangs in the air.

Hardflip                A varial kickflip done the hard way.  Figure out the varial kickflip first!

Heelflip                Kind of like an Ollie where the skater flicks his front foot off the toe edge of the board, causing the board to flip.  The opposite of a kickflip.

Heelie                   A wheelie with both fee on the tail of the board with the skater facing forward.  Sort of like a hang ten nose manual but at the other end of the board.

Heelside              Descriptive definition for rail tricks involving a flip…like frontside and backside.  These are with the heel edge of the skateboard.

Helipop                A 360 frontside nollie, which is a 360 ollie off the nose of the board.

Ho Ho Plant        A handstand done with both hands on the coping feet fully extended and the board resting on top of the feet as in a normal riding position.

Hospital Flip        A kind of casper flip.  A half kickflip to casper position in mid air followed by a varial half underflip with your front foot to get your board back the right way up.

Hurricane            A 180 ollie into a fakie feeble grind.  A great combo!

I

Iceplant                A boneless to fakie.

Illusion Flip          Like a hardflip but performed vertically through the riders legs.  The skater must rotate his body 90 frontside before turning back to catch the board and land.

Impossible          The vertical end over end rotation of the board around the riders back foot.  The front foot does nothing while the back foot scoops forward as the rider pops and whips around in a circular motion.

Indy                       A grab trick in which the back hand grabs the toeside edge of the board.

Invert                    A handplant trick with many variations.  The board is grabbed mute and the back hand is placed on the coping to allow the skater to go completely upside down before re- entering the ramp.

Inward Heelflip A varial heelflip where the varial is popped backside instead of frontside.  The skater flicks the heelflip off of the leading edge of the board as it turns.

Inward Kickflip  A varial kickflip where the varial is popped frontside instead of backside.  Read up on hardlfips for more info.

Irish Flip               Pull the board like a half nosehook impossible from a no handed 50-50 and then do a late underflip to land normally.

J

Japan Air              Another grab trick in which the toeside edge of the board is gripped behind the front trucks with the front hand.  Skater twists body away from the grip and drops his font knee towards the deck.  The board is pulled up behind and parallel to the skater’s body.

Jawbreaker        TV stand….instead of having your strongest arm on the bottom truck during the handstand, you have it on the top truck.

Jolly Mamba       A miller flip that is taken out over the coping and stalled in an invert half way through.

Judo Air                A Tony Hawk grab trick.  A one-footed nose grab where the front foot is extended to the toeside of the board in a mock martial arts flying kick.

K

Kickback               One foot is placed in the middle of the board leaving the other one across the board at the truck bolts, and jump up.  The foot in the middle kicks down making the board do a half flip, then kicks up, making the board change direction.

Kickflip                  Variation on an Ollie.  Skater flicks his front foot off the heel edge as he ollies, causing the board to flip once (or more) before he catrches the board with his feet and lands the trick.

Kickflip Underflip  A normal Ollie kickflip followed by an underflip done with the front foot while still in the air.

Kickturn               Going 180 while doing a manual or a wheelie.  Good to use when turning in a tight circle or at the top of a ramp.
